    Philadelphia: FRIDAY, JANUARY 20, 8pm

On Friday, January 20, 2012 at 8pm, the Wooden Shoe will host Beyond Invisibility Philadelphia in honor of Femme Week of Action.  Organized by Adelaide Winsome (Geppetta) and Shannon Lee (Miss Mary Wanna), this free event will take place to celebrate Femme Visibility and a national call to action as the community raises awareness and funds for Femme Con 2012, being held in Baltimore in August.  Audience members can look forward to “unplugged” style performances from a delicious variety of Philadelphia’s femme-identified performers featuring puppetry, music, burlesque, spoken word, and more.
Following the performances, there will be a panel during which performers will field questions from the audience as well as each other, to facilitate a dialogue about Femme identity, art, performing, and community building, with Rebecca Alvarez of ScrewSmart serving as our sparkling mediator.  Femmes and allies of all walks of glittergutterglamour are encouraged to join us for what is sure to be a night of femme-fabulosity in the raw.
